I'm just not pleased with the design of the back of the pedestal being left open not enclosed with metal all the way around to help keep it clean in the drawer. My old pedestal was enclosed all the way around seems like manufacturers are cutting corners.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I am certain my installers wished I had not purchased these for my new washer and dryer I am delighted that I made the purchase. The washer was very heavy to lift up after the install! The extra height makes moving laundry between machines very easy, they look great, and provide extra space to store laundry items. Tall enough to hold a bottle of detergent upright. I agonized over buying them for the price but with the discounted amount and money off from Lowe's card this ended up a good value. The washer install was a bit tricky as the machine sits back a bit off the pedestal. I can imagine this is why others had issues with drawers not closing. Installers used the second row for front bolts and it worked perfectly. I recommend the purchase.

The pedestals are expensive but worth the extra height. Only problem was the independent delivery folks but I am sure you have all realized that now since store emplyees dont make the deliveries anymore. This probably wont make the reviews because of that last comment but someone has to say it.

The main point for it is it elevated the washer to make loading & unloading easier. It is a lot lighter than my 12 year old one next to it on my old dryer. The reason can be a con as the back of the pedestal is open with only a cross bar barrier and not solid metal as my old one was. The drawer is plastic easy to wipe down. I wish it came with 1 more divider in the drawer as there are 3 slots to place dividers but only one is included and I was used to having 3 rows not just 2 as this one allows.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kona123 from Not as good as old duet pedestals These are a waste of money if the point is to save your back (they're ok for storage). the old duet pedestals had platform inserts and the drawers fully extended so you could set laundry baskets on them to empty and transfer clothes between machines. So less bending, better height. I saved my old duet inserts and they fit a bit lower... but since the drawers no longer fully extend, a laundry basket won't fit on them! Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pbgood from Too tall [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had the whirlpool duet washer and dryer but just recently had to buy a new whirlpool washer and dryer. Since my previous pedestals would not fit my new w/d I purchased the new pedestals. These were taller than my previous pedestals and would not fit under my cabinets in my laundry room. Not happy that they changed the pedestals in the first place but even more unhappy that the new ones are taller.
